Kadence Pro missing style.css Missing Stylesheet

Kadence is a really great theme, we use it in a lot of our projects because of its flexibility and recommend it for beginners and advanced users. We recommend Kadence Pro because the pro level gives you access to a lot of additional blocks and add-ons that aren't available with the free version of Kadence.

However, there's a small problem that you may encounter when you try to install Kadence Pro.

Kadence Pro Missing Stylesheet

You may see an error that shows “Broken Themes” in your themes section.

The description says: “Stylesheet is missing.”

Most likely, the reason for this error is because the Kadence-Pro theme isn't actually a theme, but a plugin that makes Kadence more robust. Many first-time users of Kadence mistakenly try to install Kadence Pro as a theme.

When you purchase Kadence, you get access to the paid addons and plugins for Kadence, including Kadence Pro. But you must install Kadence Pro as a plugin and not as a theme.

But if you find this problem, it's easy to fix.

Fix using the WordPress dashboard

The fix for this is simple. First, click on the “Delete” button next to the error as shown below.

Fix using your File Manager

If you prefer to fix this using your file manager, or cPanel, go to your website folder, then go to the themes directory.

Typically, in a shared hosting environment, the themes folder should be in a path like this:

…/public_html/domain.com/wp-content/themes/

Then delete the “kadence-pro” folder.

After you have deleted the Kadence Pro folder from the themes folder, then you can install Kadence Pro as a plugin.

Install Kadence Pro like you would install any other plugin. You will then likely need to activate the Kadence Pro plugin with your license key and email. Once activated, you should be able to begin using all of the pro-level features for Kadence.
